ArchiveXL lets mods load custom resources without touching the original game archives, which is what makes clothing, hair, and appearance mods safe to install and remove. No overwritten files, no permanent changes to your install.
It is a RED4ext plugin, so install RED4ext first. Nearly every modern appearance mod lists ArchiveXL as a dependency.
